If you can carry a tune and have a desire to become a better singer, then the fun, hard work, and fellowship of the Heralds of Harmony Chorus is for you!

Chorus members must pass a rigorous initial audition and commit to three hours of ensemble rehearsal each week as well as special rehearsals and performances throughout the season. Contemporary barbershop music is often performed with choreography for a dynamic visual effect. Ages range from middle school through retired seniors and membership is open to men and boys from all walks of life. There have been 10 father-son combinations and one family spanning three generations in the Heralds.

If you think you're ready to audition for membership, here's the procedure. At one of your first visits to a rehearsal you’ll be walked through a "voice placement" to let us know a bit about your musical interests and abilities. At this time you will receive a copy of our Expectation Sheet, describing what it means to become a member of the Heralds of Harmony. You will need to attend three out of four consecutive rehearsals. At or after your third rehearsal you should advise our Vice-President of Music and Performance of your intentions and download the sheet music and your voice part learning track to our current qualification song.

You will need to learn the song by memory for your private audition in a quartet. The membership audition is designed to determine if you have the basic skills which, given dedication and hard work, will enable you to become an active member of the performing chorus. If you don't qualify the first time, don't worry. The audition team will suggest areas for improvement and you may re-audition a second and even a third time.

After you have successfully completed the audition you will be invited to join our chapter and become a Heralds of Harmony Rookie Class member. Our Heralds Rookies work together to get up to speed on the Heralds performance repertoire. As you qualify on the current chorus repertoire you become a PERFORMING MEMBER of the Heralds of Harmony!
